- Parent Meeting on Tuesday, March 30
from 7- 8 PM (03/24/2010)
There is a meeting on Tuesday, March 30th from 7:00 - 8:00 PM for
parents of all girls interested in playing Lady Raider Basketball
next year. The meeting will be held in the classroom upstairs in the
gym. Topics include: spring training schedule, spring fundraising
tournaments, summer camp schedule and fees, and upcoming booster
elections in May for the 2010-2011 season. We hope to see you
there!

(This game determines whether we make it to
State Play-offs. If we win, we will be in top four of region and will be
in State Play-offs!!)
- When we win, we will play on Saturday at 6pm @ Campbell
- Depending on what happens in this game will determine whether we
play in the Championship game at
7pm on Monday night or the Consolation game at 4pm on Monday.
We need a lot of support on Friday night to push our Lady Raiders

The pasta dinner originally scheduled for the players on Thursday
night will be postponed until next week due to some conflicts. We
will try to reschedule for a game next week. Coach A may schedule
something with the girls on Friday morning. If so, she will let
them know at practice.

Tonight’s game has been canceled. Fulton County and Cobb County
canceled all weekend activities, so our game and senior night
activities will be rescheduled. The tournament is still scheduled to
begin next week.

The Varsity had a great week with a win over Centennial and 2 wins
over Rowell, to secure 2nd place in the sub-region! They now
have a 7 game winning streak. Way to go Lady Raiders!
- JV Team Wraps Up Season

Although the JV team had a disappointing 2-point loss to Roswell in
the region championship game, they had a tremendous season overall! They
had a 15-3 winning record, and never loss by more than 4 points. The
team should be proud!!

Our end-of-season banquet is set for Thursday, March 25th from
6:30-9:30 p.m. at the Roswell Country Club. Families should arrive

- Another Great Weekend for the Lady
Raiders! (02/01/10)
It was another outstanding weekend for Lady Raider Basketball! Our
Varsity team had wins over Centennial on Friday and Lovett on
Saturday, and now have a 4-game winning streak. The JV team started
the week with a close lost to John’s Creek (who had the advantage of
some varsity players), but they ended the week strong with a win
over Centennial on Friday and a win over Lassiter on Saturday in
tournament play. They now advance to the semi-finals next Saturday.

Coach A has planned a trip for our team to attend a Georgia Lady
Bulldogs basketball game on Feb 7th at 2:00pm. The team will be
carpooling and will leave at 10:30am. It should be lots of

end-of-season JV tournament! They begin play on Saturday, Jan

- Picture Day

The girls will have team and individual pictures made next
Wednesday, February 3rd right after school. They should receive the
order forms on Thursday.
- Donation to Haiti Fund
(01/25/10)
AHS has challenged all sports teams and clubs to raise or donate $50
each to go to relief in Haiti. If all teams and clubs donate, our
school will be able to send $5,000 to the Red Cross to be used
toward helping the people in Haiti. The Lady Raider Basketball
program is happy to participate in this worthy cause.

Toy Drive Presented by AHS Athletics

The athletics dept is conducting a Toy Drive. Toys will be donated to the Atlanta Recreation
Department who puts on a Christmas Xplosion for kids in the inter
city. Players are encouraged to participate. Let's help bring a little joy

Rib Shack to offer hams for the Holidays. Price is $49 with $5 going to the athletic
program of the purchaser’s choice. Order forms and checks should be returned to Kirk

are available for pick up at Shane’s after Dec 18.

This tournament was a big success. Thanks to Clemmit Newsome

- Team Kickoff Dinner

The kickoff dinner is Weds, Nov 11 at
7PM in the cafeteria. Dinner will be served to players &
coaches only. During that time, parents will pay season fees &
Disney trip balances, and take care of other administrative
details. The booster is buying the pizza for the players but need
volunteers to bring dessert & drinks.

Message from Coach A: We have 8 team members who are sick or injured at this time and that I feel that it would be most
productive to let our team rest and heal up over the weekend and
hopefully be ready to practice Monday night.
Please help our girls understand the importance of
eating right, drinking plenty of water, getting enough rest and
washing their hands!! We
plan to add hand sanitizer to our practices and make it easily
accessible at all times. Basketball is a sport where things
can spread quickly among a team and to be THE BEST and our best we
have to be healthy!!

Our tournament is scheduled for Sat, Nov 7th and Sun, Nov
8th. We need volunteers (players for clock
& books, and parents for concession stand & gate). This is a
great way to earn money for our booster and player accounts.
